Raised on a ranch in Damon, Texas, Christy Hawkins knows a thing or two about hard work. From feeding horses at the break of dawn to putting insurance companies in their place, she doesn’t rest until the job is done.
After spending years in school to pursue a career in public affairs, and then creating furniture for her father’s business, Ms. Hawkins yearned to learn more about law and policy, and how they’re determined and shaped.
In law school, Ms. Hawkins absolutely fell in love with law as a force for change. Then, during her career, she fell in love with helping people recover. “Whether they’re impacted by a severe weather event or something went terribly awry with their property, we help people put the pieces back together and move forward.”
Ms. Hawkins earned a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2014. Throughout law school, she clerked at a small tax law firm and for the Honorable Alexandra Smoots-Hogan of the 164th District Court in Harris County.
Upon graduation, Ms. Hawkins joined the Chad T. Wilson Law Firm, where she works, day in and day out, helping people. Currently licensed to practice law in the state of Texas as well as Colorado, she focuses her practice on first party property insurance litigation.
